ABSTRACT

The FUCKi̶s̶m̶TC Art-Label was founded by Iv Toshain and Anna Ceeh in 2012 (*Vienna – Sofia – St. Petersburg).

The collective operates under multiple brand names that change continually according to the concepts and issues they focus on (including, among others, FUCKi̶s̶m̶TC, FEMINi̶s̶m̶TC, FXXXi̶s̶m̶TC, XXXXi̶s̶m̶TC, SUCKi̶s̶m̶TC).

It  takes a critical stance toward ideologies and is a base for institutional critique activities.  It defines  itself  as a post-socialist post activist modular  perpetual motion  machine,  which operates both  on  the  level  of discourse and performance. At the intersection of pop-cultural semantics, art  theory, activism, and contemporary  art, it serves as a platform for well-planned public operations/ interventions in  the form  of solo actions or cooperations with international artists.

FEMINi̶s̶m̶TC champions the semantic potential of art as a means of a condensed communication and device that compresses, stores, and disseminates information, referring beyond mere representation of images.

Tailored to  venues  and  spaces,  the  interventions  of FXXXi̶s̶m̶TC made prêt-à-porter merchandising articles and installations show an aesthetics  that draws on clear, reduced stylistic devices, the post-capitalist advertising methods of  the spectacle as well as the artistic-political tactics of subversive affirmation.

If contemporary art at its most vital occupies the cultural borders where change takes place and it is one vehicle, by which cultural values and practice are transformed, then our Art-Label XXXXi̶s̶m̶TC operates on exactly this cultural border.

Fuck Ideologien
